In an interview, the director, Dinkar Kapoor, shares the experience of making the movie

Q. How did this project come your way?

Ans. Earlier I was an assistant to Mr. Abbas Mastan. My brother Deepak Kapoor, an editor, has connections with the film field.

Q. How was your experience in making the movie?

Ans. It was an excellent production. The producer Mr. Ashok Kotwani was very supportive. We had a 25-day schedule in Malaysia. All of us are very excited about the movie.

Q. Why did you opt for DTS in your debut venture?

Ans. Yeh Kaisi Mohabbat is a romantic thriller. And a thriller needs DTS sound. The DTS sound is absolutely necessary to experience the impact of a thriller.

Q. Why did you opt for Media Artists to mix the sound?

Ans. Sandeep Chowta recommended Media Artists very highly. He said that he has done a lot of his work here, and if we wanted top quality sound, we should go to Media Artists. And since sound quality was a major concern, we opted for Media Artists.

Q. How was your experience working with Media Artists?

Ans. Working with Media Artists was very nice. Ajit, the Sound Engineer was very helpful. He gave useful suggestions on how we could put the DTS format to best use.

The people at Media Artists treated us really well. The service and treatment was at par with other production houses doing work there. I was not given less importance because it was my first project.

Q. What is your opinion on non-linear editing?

Ans. Yeh Kaisi Mohabbat was edited on the Avid at Edit Zone, Mumbai. I am very happy working on the Avid because it makes editing so easy. I edited in Edit Zone because it is my brother's setup. It has four Avids, because Avid is the first in non-linear editing systems.
