Fifty Films old director Director Bhargav stepped in to Media Artists this July to make his first DTS release 'Gandagalli Kumarama' starring Shiv Rajkumar. With the mixing all complete the veteran director is more than glad that he came here. Stumped by the technology and the flawless facilities at Media Artists, Director Bhargav was only too eager to stop for a chat and share his experience with DTS and the Media Artists.

At the very outset the director said he had just one earnest request, " With such amazing facilities available, I wish that Media Artists would set up a dts mixing theatre in Bangalore. In fact I think it should have been done by now" - a request that spells out just how much the director trusts the sound quality offered at Media Artists. " Being the pioneers of Digital technology in India and also the ones who brought dts to the country, it is quite natural that Media Artists has a winning edge over its competitors", he added.

Director Bhargav belongs to the class of moviemakers who are emotionally attached to their movies as a parent is to his/her child. "Over the last few months I have been living and breathing my movie. Every minute I have spent thinking of camera angles and shots and dialogues", he said. Such being the case, the director would most certainly have wanted only the best for his movie. "The importance of sound in a movie is great. Sound is a form of expression and it also adds essence to the movie. The background score and the ambience sounds should communicate just as the dialogues do. The visuals and the sound should synchronize and evoke the interest of the audience" And how did Media Artists affect his movie's sound track? "The sound track is magical after the dts mix!" said a rather spell bound Director Bhargav.

Completely satisfied with the technical facilities and their contribution towards his film, director Director Bhargav is more than pleased to say a word or two about the people who helped him at the studio. "It not enough for the Sound engineer to know how to work with the technology. They should know how to work with the director and the film - they should understand both, only then will they be able to communicate the meaning that the director has in his mind." Were the people at Media Artists sensitive to this director's needs? "Absolutely! The sound engineers here will work around the clock relentlessly to give perfection." Kudos to Media Artists for that, but he did not stop there. "The best part of all is that I learned that there is a sound engineer to handle each language! It is imperative for the Sound Engineer to understand the language of the movie he is working on - only then will he be able to understand the needs of the director and of the movie. With so many sound tracks to be managed, he just has to understand what's going on in each scene!"

Gandagalli Kumararama is director Director Bhargav's 50th film. "I made my first film with the Kannada film icon Rajkumar and now for my fiftieth film I have his son as the hero. I have worked with two generations of talent", said a proud Director Bhargav who readily gave us an outline of his latest venture. The story is set in the pre-independence days of India and revolves around a valiant king and his adventures. The music is scored by Guru Kiran and "I'm pretty sure he is going to be happy with the outcome", said a thrilled Director Bhargav.

With the movie set to release on the 4th of August, Director Bhargav is keeping his fingers crossed, hoping that all the effort gone into this mighty movie will not be in vain. As for his next project - when will that be? "Well, like I said before, I have been living and breathing this movie. I've not yet thought of the next. But I'm sure I want to come back here. My 50th movie is technically excellent, so my 51st will have to be better! And for that I'm going to have to come back to Media Artists!" said the director with a twinkle in his eyes.
